From the early broadcast of my twice a day newsletter, Commodity Insite in the Livestock section. The information below was sent out around 6:45 a.m. Chicago time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Boxed beef prices fell $1.08 after the close yesterday, a further loss of $.44. Pork cutout fell $.04 a decline of $.46 from earlier. In the case of boxed beef, the last time Choice closed here at $196.32 was around September 26. But on that day, December live cattle were trading under $114.00 compared to yesterdays, settlement price of $118.52."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other words, December cattle futures have rallied 500 points since September 26, while Choice cutout values are unchanged. Go figure!
